In the Fall of 2009, John joined Robert Peterson in the creation of a new Executive Search and Interim IT Management firm, Peterson | Moore, LLC. The new firm focuses on the placement of IT executives in the US and Europe and providing interim, executive IT leadership. The other Partner in Peterson | Moore, LLC, Robert Peterson, is a senior IT and Business executive with substantial leadership experience.

Prior to the creation of the new firm, John was a Senior Vice President, CIO for DSW in Columbus, Ohio. In this role, he headed the Brand Technology Services (BTS) organization, a LLC of DSW, responsible for providing all IT services to DSW, Filenes Basement, and Value City Department Stores. In addition, Moore served as a member of the company's executive council.

Before joining DSW, Moore was Senior Vice President, CIO and Head of Logistics for Tween Brands, Inc. (Formerly Too Brands, Inc.) in Columbus, Ohio. In this position, he was responsible for delivering all information systems for Tween's Limited Too and Justice Brands. In addition, he was responsible for the Tween Brands distribution center operations and transportation programs.

Moore was also the Senior Vice President, Enterprise Systems Group for the Best Buy Company, Inc. in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In this position, he was responsible for delivering all information technology within Best Buy and all associated brands.

Before joining Best Buy, Moore was the Vice President of Global Architecture and Engineering and CIO for the Public and Relationship Sectors at Dell Computer Corporation in Austin, Texas. In this role, he was responsible for all aspects of engineering, architecture, information security, and offshore development for Dell, globally.

For approximately three years prior to joining Dell, Moore was a Senior Vice President of Technology for the National Association of Securities Dealers, Inc. (NASD®). In this position, he was responsible for all information technology within the NASD parent organization and for its subsidiary NASD Regulation, Inc.

Before joining the NASD, Moore was Vice President for Global Development at Citicorp, overseeing all applications development for Citicorp's Corporate Bank. He was also a member of the Board of Directors, Citicorp Overseas, Limited (COSL), and developed the concept, design, and implementation plan for Citicorp's Global Development Organization.

Prior to his employment at Citicorp, he spent nine years with General Electric's Aerospace Division where he was named Director of Systems Engineering for GE's Astro-Space Division. In this capacity, he led a 350 person technology team responsible for all systems engineering, conceptual design engineering, thermal engineering, control system engineering, electro-optic engineering, and specialty engineering activities for the Division.

Moore was a Captain, fighter pilot, and instructor pilot in the United States Air Force. He is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force's prestigious F-15 Fighter Weapons Instructor School and was awarded the Air Force Meritorious Service Medal, Commendation Medal, and the Combat Readiness Medal.

Moore served on the Board of Directors for the United States Air Force Academy Association of Graduates from 1999 to 2007. He is currently the Chairman of the Board for the Boys Scouts of America's Arrowhead District and is a member of the Simon Kenton Council Executive Board. He is a 1978 graduate of the Air Force Academy with a BS in Astronautical Engineering, and holds an MBA from the Krannert School for Executive Education at Purdue University, which he received in 1992. Moore became an Eagle Scout in 1971 and was honored with the Silver Beaver Award in 2010.
